Library Volunteers
Library Volunteers Needed! 📚
Save the date for our initial volunteer meeting on October 10, 2025 from 10:30 - 11:30 AM in the Chatsworth Library.
Our library volunteers play an essential role in supporting day-to-day operations and helping students develop a love for reading. Volunteers assist with shelving books, organizing shelves, helping students during book checkout, and occasionally supporting classroom activities. On days when the library assistant is not present, volunteers may also assist with book circulation.
Volunteers commit to one shift every other week, from mid-October through the end of the school year. Available shifts are weekday mornings and afternoons, and the schedule is coordinated based on the school’s rotating cycle days. No prior experience is needed — all training is provided!
Volunteer sign-up typically opens in early October. As in past years, 5th grade parents are given early access to the schedule before it opens to all other grades. A substitute list is also maintained for those who prefer more flexible involvement or are unable to commit to a regular shift.
Interested in volunteering? Stay tuned for sign-up information, or contact Erin McArdle for more details.
